AJ loves buses. Even though he’s only 6 months old, he loves watching bus, being on a bus, and being sang ‘The Wheels on the Bus’. I end up singing the nursery rhyme to him multiple times in a day.
I then came across this video from Twinklebots Cantonese that inspired me to learn how to sing ‘The Wheels on the Bus’ in Cantonese. As I was never sung to as a child in Cantonese, this is pushing my comfort zone but at least I don’t have to worry about tones when singing!
The experience wasn’t as difficult as I thought and it encouraged me to write my own version of the lyrics. Because I learn best from reading, I wanted to created a song sheet for me to sing from. I’ve included written Cantonese and Jyutping lyrics, as well as an English translation of they lyrics. I hope you find it useful!
I highly recommend Twinklebots Cantonese for your preschool children. Their videos are fun, engaging, and educational. They also have lots of Cantonese nursery rhymes- let me know in the comments which nursery rhyme you would like me to create a song sheet for next.
